The aim of the projects was to improve the value chain of marine products through research and development into cooling processes, cooling solutions, packaging, transport processes and traceability. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The projects were carried out in close collaboration with Icelandic industry and foreign scientific institutes to ensure that information on the best refrigeration solutions is passed on to the Icelandic food industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The aim of the projects was to be a forum for knowledge about the best cooling methods for fish products to ensure the quality properties of raw materials and products and to promote the utilization of this information for Icelandic producers in their markets by:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u0192\u2013 Lay the foundation for more purposeful process control in food production and increase knowledge of refrigeration labels and their effects on products, quality, shelf life and product safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u0192\u2013 Analyze the economic preconditions of options in technology and transport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u0192\u2013 Develop and adapt rapid measurement methods, develop forecasting models and realistic decision-making tools
in the industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u0192\u2013 Develop and publish advisory guides, manuals and an interactive portal tailored to industry needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u0192\u2013 Share knowledge and skills based on the latest sources of knowledge at home and abroad in an organized manner to underpin the competitive position of the Icelandic fishing industry internationally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
