{"id":46476,"date":"2022-05-11T10:37:51","date_gmt":"2022-05-11T10:37:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/matis.is\/?post_type=matis_projects&#038;p=46476"},"modified":"2023-08-01T10:22:50","modified_gmt":"2023-08-01T10:22:50","slug":"nordmar-biorefine-opid-lifmassaver-rekstrargrundvollur","status":"publish","type":"matis_projects","link":"https:\/\/matis.is\/en\/matis_projects\/nordmar-biorefine-opid-lifmassaver-rekstrargrundvollur\/","title":{"rendered":"NordMar Biorefine: Open biomass plant - operational basis"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">NordMar Biorefine is a project that began under the Icelandic Presidency of the Nordic Council of Ministers. <\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The aim of the project is to strengthen the Nordic Blue Bioeconomy by:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Establishing a network of experts in the field of the Blue Bioeconomy in the Nordic countries<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Launching an online portal where knowledge and information can be exchanged<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Carrying out a feasibility study on the operation and location of open biomass plants in the Nordic countries<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Investigate the possibility of creating study material regarding tributary currents that are formed during the production of seafood and their processing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>There is a long tradition for the utilization of the sea in the Nordic nations, and the utilization must be sustainable and yield sought-after products. It is important that what comes from the sea is used in the best possible way to maximize value and keep environmental impact to a minimum. Entrepreneurs and other processors need to have access to biomass plants to further develop their ideas and explore the possibility of going into full-scale production. To do this, there must be accessible equipment and knowledge, which can be useful in moving from the concept stage towards finished products. This project will examine the existing biomass plants in the Nordic countries and assess where better action can be taken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The project&#039;s website with an online portal is
