Environmental monitoring specialist

Matís is seeking an ambitious specialist to work on diverse projects in the field of environmental monitoring. 

The role involves overseeing and carrying out environmental monitoring projects for industrial sites in Iceland, along with other ad hoc tasks. It also includes participation in a quality team working on the implementation and certification of a quality management system in accordance with international standards. The position offers diverse projects, professional challenges and flexible working hours.

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Overseeing environmental monitoring projects as well as other ad hoc tasks.
  • Carrying out tasks within environmental monitoring projects.
  • Participation in a quality team and the continued development and certification of a quality management system.

Educational and qualification requirements

  • A university degree in engineering, chemistry or related fields is required.
  • A postgraduate degree in the above fields is an advantage.
  • Experience in data handling, processing and presentation is required.
  • Experience in environmental monitoring or pollution control is an advantage.
  • Experience working with a certified quality management system is an advantage, particularly ISO/IEC 17025.
  • Good general proficiency in Icelandic and English, both spoken and written.
  • Good general computer skills.

The position is full-time and the successful candidate will be based at Matís's premises at Vínlandsleið 12.
