Project description:
The doctoral project is part of a larger project called IceGut. IceGut's goal is to examine the intestinal flora of children in parallel with the mother's nutrition during pregnancy and the baby's nutrition during the first years of life. The emphasis in the doctoral program is to examine the connection between individual nutritional factors and the children's intestinal flora in order to gain a better understanding of the needs of mothers during pregnancy. Particular emphasis is placed on 25 (OH) D, alkylresorcinols and fatty acids from a blood test taken at 11-14 weeks' gestation and the association of these factors with the children's intestinal flora.
