The project is intended to strengthen the provision of information on pork in the Icelandic Meat Book and the Icelandic Database on Nutritional Value (ÍSGEM), both of which are widely used information sources on the Matís website.
In addition, pig farmers and meat processing companies receive the necessary information for providing information and labeling food. Samples of pork pieces are analyzed into meat, fat and bone, then nutrient measurements are performed on pork. The results are recorded in the online version of the Icelandic meat book and the ÍSGEM nutrient database. The project began in 2020 and will end in 2021. The sponsor is the Agricultural Productivity Fund.
