SUPREME is a research and innovation project that is funded by the Norwegian Research Council, and is therefore intended to work on increasing the utilization and value creation of side streams that arise in the value chains of demersal fish in Norway. The project includes developing solutions for handling on board fishing vessels, transporting and processing raw materials from the Norwegian offshore fleet.

It is expected that the results of the SUPREME project will help to provide the Norwegian demersal industry with new market opportunities, increased margins and a larger market share in seafood by-products.

Matís' role in the project is, among other things, to share knowledge from Iceland and other countries that excel in the processing of marine products. Matís has also been involved in product development and in reviewing the value chains of Norwegian demersal fish. Matís has published the following reports on the project:
