The project Cereals in the Arctic - New markets discussed the value chain from grain farming to feed and food. The project focused primarily on barley. The aim was to increase the value of grain products and promote grain cultivation in new areas. The project began in 2015 and ended in 2018. The partners were Matís, the Agricultural University of Iceland, as well as research institutes in Norway, the Orkney Islands, the Faroe Islands and Canada. The project was funded by the Arctic Program.
